TITLE:  Interpretive Naturalist/Stewardship Assistant - Part Time

REPORTS TO:  Director of Wittenbach Wege Center (WWC)

COMPENSATION:  $16.38/hour; 12-25 hours/week

BROAD STATEMENT OF POSITION: The WWC is looking for part-time Interpretive Naturalists/ Stewardship Assistant to join our team. We’re looking for someone who is organized, thoughtful, dependable, and genuinely has a passion for sharing the natural world with students and people of all ages.  We work to connect children with nature and agriculture through educational, recreational and cultural experiences.  We also engage in stewardship work to maintain the beauty and biodiversity, and integrity of our outdoor classroom.   

 

Experience working with children, especially those in grades pre-K-5, preferred.  Background in environmental education, science, ecology, or a related field desired but not required. Natural resource management, agriscience, and conservation experience is desired, but not required.  We can teach the WWC programs and processes. Hours vary by week but may include as many as 25 during heavy study trip seasons.  Stewardship and natural resource management and maintenance brings additional hours to the position seasonally.  This position does include occasional nights, weekend hours for special events, and community and summer camp programming.
